This is our first time to do the deisgn for Araliya St Kilda since they moved the restaurant to the new place. Our goal this time was to keep consistency of its new branding throught the menu design, and to highlight their philosophy of cuisine which is original and high quality local ingredients to create contemporary dishes from Sam's own recipes.
Araliya St Kilda, which officially opened in June 2014, features Sam in the kitchen as executive chef and Dee managing front of house. The Sri Lankan born couple moved to Melbourne in 1981 as part of Australia’s assisted skilled migrants scheme after training and working in Sri Lanka and the UK. They opened Araliya in Hawthorn in 1985 offering contemporary Sri Lankan inspired cuisine. Thirty years later, the restaurant is going strong, catering to a broad clientele of corporate diners, food aficionados and three generations of regulars.
